Scuffles between protesters and police erupted in Berlin as left-wing demonstrators took to the streets of Berlin on Friday to show support for the recently evicted inhabitants of the Berlin squat Kopi. Police officers detained several protesters.

Demonstrators could be seen marching and chanting through the streets of the German capital.
Inhabitants of Kopi’s Wagonplatz were evicted earlier on Friday in a large police operation, which saw them using armoured vehicles and diggers to break down barricades put in place.

The building was one of the last left-wing autonomous housing projects. Thirty residents had been living on the trailer site for 20 years.
