Around 250 protesters rallied against coronavirus restrictions and vaccinations in Berlin on Saturday.
The protesters marched through the western borough of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, escorted by police. A handful of people were detained for not wearing masks during the demonstration.

The demonstration remained peaceful and ended after a three hour march.

Restrictions on many areas of life have been eased in Germany in recent months as the vaccination rates against COVID-19 have increased, with tests or proof of vaccination or recovery being required for certain activities.

According to Germany’s Health Ministry, 63.9 percent of the population was fully vaccinated from COVID-19 as of Friday.

Vaccines broadly, as well as coronavirus vaccines specifically, are near universally agreed to be safe and necessary anti-pandemic measures by the vast majority of medical professionals and scientists, as well as intergovernmental bodies like the World Health Organisation, and most national governments.
