Fans gathered outside the ‘an der Alten Forsterei’ stadium to attend the sold-out Derby match between FC Union and Hertha in Berlin on Saturday that was held abiding by 2G COVID-19 regulation, admitting only vaccinated or recovered spectators.

Many supporters of the two teams welcomed the opportunity to take part in the event as a recovered or vaccinated person.

The Berlin Senate Administration announced on Tuesday that the city derby could take place under the conditions of the 2G rule without any restriction to the number of spectators, despite the increasing number of corona cases.
