The plague causes chaos in the Kingdom of France in 1349. The Inquisition pursues Amicia and her younger brother Hugo through towns that have been ravaged by the illness. They’ll have to work together with other kids and use fire and light to avoid swarms of rats along the route. They will endure unimaginable atrocities in their battle to survive, aided only by the connection that binds their fates together. As their adventure begins… the time of innocence ends.
