US President Joe Biden met Pope Francis at the Vatican on the sidelines of the G20 leaders’ summit on Friday to discuss climate change, the COVID-19 pandemic and global poverty.

Biden was seen with his delegation and wife Jill in the Vatican interiors, where he presented gifts to Pope Francis.

Later in the day, a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron was scheduled, where both would likely to discuss the controversial nuclear submarine agreement between the US, UK and Australia, which prompted Australia to cancel an agreement to buy non-nuclear submarines from Paris.
