Hong Kong: Einstein's handwritten calculations for theory of relativity showcased ahead of auction

An Albert Einstein manuscript that contributed to the development of the famous theory of relativity was showcased at Christie’s auction house in Hong Kong on Tuesday ahead of its auction in Paris.
Einstein’s manuscript contains a series of calculations using the early version of Einstein’s general theory of relativity. The manuscript provides a remarkable insight into Einstein’s work.
“Flipping through the manuscript we can really see how they are working back and forth in their calculations, making comments and corrections on their ideas, and getting closer to the truth,” said a Christie’s Asia Pacific spokesperson Melody Lin.
Christie’s France and auction house Aguttes will auction the manuscript in Paris on 23 November for an estimate of €2m-€3m.
