Over the course of the two-day street party, police made over 200 arrests, with offences ranging from physical and sexual assault to the possession of drugs and offensive weapons.

Over a million people descended on Notting Hill to enjoy the signature vibrant outfits and steel pans the festival has become known for in its 57-year history.

But despite the sense of celebration, festivities were marred by the fatal stabbing of a 21-year-old man among other acts of senseless violence.
