‘HUNDREDS Injured in Jerusalem During Intense Clashes Around Al-Aqsa Mosque’

More than 205 Palestinians and 17 Israeli police officers were injured in Jerusalem on Friday. Intense clashes broke out around the al-Aqsa mosque compound - a sacred site for both Jews and Muslims.

Thousands were in attendance earlier in the day for the final Friday prayers of Ramadan.

Tensions are high as an Israeli court prepares to rule on the eviction of many Palestinians from the city’s Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood. after a long legal battle with Jewish settlers.

The violence was expected after a week of near-nightly confrontations in the holy city. Police used rubber bullets and stun grenades, while Palestinians threw rocks and chairs.
