‘Into the Wild’ Bus Airlifted from Alaska Wilderness Amid Safety Concerns

An abandoned bus in Alaska, popularised by the book and film ‘Into the Wild’, was removed by helicopter amid public safety concerns.
The wreck, which is where adventurer Christopher McCandless died in 1992, has long attracted hikers to a dangerous area without cellphone service and subject to unpredictable weather and swollen rivers.
Only earlier this year, five Italians had to be rescued from the bus, with one suffering severe frostbite.
