Prime Minister Boris Johnson appeared to be caught off guard when asked whether he thought Joe Biden was ‘woke’ by a Sky News reporter.

‘I can’t comment on that … What I know is that he’s a firm believer in the transatlantic alliance,’ Johnson said, adding ‘there’s nothing wrong if he is’.

The prime minister congratulated Joe Biden and vice-president Kamala Harris, calling their inauguration a ‘step forward for the country’.
