Italy: G20 ministers arrive in Naples for environment, climate and energy meeting

Ministers from G20 countries were seen arriving in Naples on Thursday, ahead of a ministerial meeting titled ‘G20 Environment, Climate, and Energy’, aiming to merge the goals of protecting mankind and transitioning to a more ecological world.

It is is hoped that the talks will help put into motion the goals adopted during the COP26 conference in Glasgow, with the three main themes of the meeting being biodiversity and protection of the oceans, the promotion of circular economies, and overhauling the financial system to encourage sustainable development.

The talks come amid raging forest fires in the US and Russia, as well as devastating flooding in Western Europe and China.
