Italy: Rome's Capitoline Hill goes dark in symbolic protest against soaring energy prices

The lights were switched off at Capitoline Hill in Rome on Thursday, in protest against energy price hikes.
Roman authorities turned off the lighting at the monument at 20:00 local time (19:00 GMT) leaving the square bathed in moonlight.
The monument joined Florence’s Palazzo Vecchio, Ponte Vecchio and Palazzo Medici Riccardi in going dark.
Similar actions are planned to be held in Milan, Turin, Bologna, and Pisa.
