An India Air plane carrying 191 people has crashed at an airport in the southern state of Kerala.

Indian aviation officials say the aircraft skidded off the runway and broke into two pieces upon landing.

The plane, en route from Dubai, was attempting to land at Calicut terminal - one of Kerala’s most prominent international airports.

An airline spokesperson has said several passengers are injured.
