UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to address the House of Commons in London on Monday, January 31, on the report sent to him by the Second Permanent Secretary in the Cabinet Office, Sue Gray, as result as a investigation into confirmed and alleged parties during COVID lockdown at 10 Downing Street.

The British Foreign Office is also expected to announce a new set of sanctions against Russia, to target Moscow’s strategic and financial interests.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that Britain is preparing to offer NATO a “major” deployment of troops, weapons, warships, and jets in Europe, to respond to rising “Russian hostility” towards Ukraine.

The possible deployment will reinforce NATO’s defences and “underpin the UK’s support for Nordic and Baltic partners,” according to Johnson’s office.

Britain’s foreign and defence ministers are also expected go to Moscow for talks with their Russian counterparts in the coming days.​
