German Chancellor Angela Merkel is set to be awarded an honorary degree by Johns Hopkins University in Washington DC on Thursday, July 15, on the sidelines of her visit to the United States.
The Doctor of Humane Letters degree will be presented to thechancellor by the University’s President Ron Daniels to underscore “her legacy of promoting international cooperation and stability amid unprecedented challenges”, according to the university. Merkel is expected to deliver remarks after receiving the award.
Merkel is visiting the United States for talks with President Biden scheduled to take place in the White House in Washington DC on Thursday, July 15.
