The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences is set to announce the 2021 Nobel Prize winner in Physics in Stockholm on Tuesday, October 5.

This year 329 people have been announced as candidates for prizes in various categories. Among them, 234 are individuals, and 95 are organisations.

In 2020 Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to Roger Penrose, ‘for the discovery that black hole formation is a robust prediction of the general theory of relativity,’ and to Reinhard Genzel and Andrea Ghez ‘for the discovery of a supermassive compact object at the centre of our galaxy.’
