A Soyuz MS spacecraft lifts off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on Tuesday, October 5, carrying the ISS Expedition 66 that includes Roscosmos commander and cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov as well as Russian film producer Klim Shipenko and actress Yulia Peresild to the International Space Station.

Shipenko and Peresild will spend about a week on the ISS before returning to Earth aboard Soyuz MS-18, with the intention of producing the first feature-length film ‘The Challenge’ to be shot in outer space, while Shkaplerov will remain in orbit over a longer period.

This launch would mark the first time in more than 21 years that a Soyuz crew only includes Russian cosmonauts and travellers.
