Chancellor Angela Merkel met with Pope Francis at Vatican City and later accompanied the Pope and other religious leaders to the International Meeting for Peace in front of the Colosseum in Rome on Thursday.

Merkel, Pope Francis and others spoke at the International Meeting for Peace calling for an end to the wars and needless suffering.
