Mexico: President opens new National Guard HQ in Ciudad Juarez

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador inaugurated the new headquarters of the National Guard in Ciudad Juarez on the second day of his visit to the border state of Chihuahua on Sunday.

At the opening ceremony he also addressed other programs aimed to support the residents of the border cities, such as the minimum salary raise, scholarships and increased pensions.

The visit concluded the establishment of three National Guard HQs along the border to strengthen security in the area, with extra 2,542 agents to be deployed.
