It is noted that ” these conversion operations were carried out with the funds of the National Welfare Fund in foreign currency placed on accounts with the Bank of Russia as of July 1, 2021, as well as with the funds of the federal budget in foreign currency in the equivalent of 31.6 billion rubles credited to the Fund on July 2 this year for the purpose of its formation in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation.”
Recall that Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that the National Welfare Fund (NWF) will completely get rid of dollar assets within a month. The Ministry of Finance explained this decision by the need to ensure the safety of funds in the context of recent geopolitical trends and decisions on the de-dollarization of the Russian economy.
