He worked almost all his life at the defense plant "Barricades". Having lost his mother and father under the bombing in Stalingrad, he went to the front, unable to bury them. He could not take his wife and two-year-old son out of the burning Stalingrad.
He served in the calculation of the famous "forty-five". In 1943-1944, these guns were already obsolete. Entering into battle with German tanks, the gunners always suffered heavy losses. To survive two or three serious fights was considered a great success.
