A US court published a previously finalised deal between Jeffrey Epstein and Virginia Giuffre on Monday in New York City, that according to his lawyers, could save Britain’s Prince Andrew from indictment.
Images show the US district court in the southern district of New York in lower Manhattan, after the unsealing of the deal.
According to the 2009 out-of-court settlement, Giuffre had agreed with multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein to settle her lawsuit against him for 500,000 USD (at that time around 330,000 euros). The agreement also states that Guiffre will indemnify any “potential defendant” from legal action. Prince Andrew’s attorneys claim that this part of the unsealed document prevents charges against the Duke of York.
Giuffre accuses now deceased financier Jeffrey Epstein of sex trafficking and sexual abuse including lending her and other minors to rich and powerful men. In this context, she also accuses the son of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain of abusing her several times 20 years ago at the age of 17, allegations that Prince Andrew has denied.
