The body found less than one mile from where Nicola Bulley was last seen has been identified as the 45-year-old mother-of-two.

Nicola’s family has praised the support of local community and described the agony of dealing with the intense public speculation surrounding her disappearance.

Search teams used helicopters, drones and specialist sonar equipment during their 23-day search, but despite their efforts, it was two dog walkers who discovered Nicola’s body.

Nicola Bulley went missing while walking her dog in St Michael’s on Wyre on the morning of Friday 27 January.
