Nine people arrested after bloodshed in Beirut sees six dead

A protester could be seen lying in the street after heavy gunfire broke out in Beirut.
Protesters were calling for the removal of a judge involved in the 2020 Beirut explosion probe, when snipers shot at them from rooftops, according to the Interior Ministry.
At least six people died in the shooting and more than 30 were injured, according to the Lebanese Red Cross.
Nine people were arrested following the violence, the Lebanese army said on October 14.
The protest was organised by the militant group Hezbollah
They accuse Judge Tarek Bitar of being biased in the investigation into the 2020 port blasts, which killed more than 200 people.
Hezbollah blamed the right-wing Christian Lebanese Forces (LF) for the sniper attacks.
LF has denied instigating the violence.
