‘Off-duty Pilot Took ‘psychedelic mushrooms’ Before Trying to Crash Plane’

An off-duty pilot who allegedly tried to crash an Alaska Airlines plane has pleaded not guilty to 83 counts of attempted murder.

Joseph David Emerson told police he had taken psychedelic mushrooms due to his mental health, when the incident occurred on Sunday.

A pilot flying the plane told air traffic controllers that Emerson had tried to shut down the engines while riding in the extra seat in the cockpit.
