Pakistan: Thousands flood Karachi to pay tribute to late comedian Umer Sharif

Thousands of people gathered to pay tribute to legendary Pakistani comedian and actor Umer Sharif as his coffin was taken to its final resting place in Karachi on Wednesday.

His coffin was driven through the city streets to a cemetery next to the shrine of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi.

“He produced content which reflects the interest of the common man, Umer Sharif. His talent, his persona will remain alive in our memories,” said mourner Muhammad Nadeem.

Umer Sharif died at the age of 66 in Germany last week as he was awaiting transfer to the US for further treatment.
