A tornado left a trail of destruction as it ripped through a Canadian city just north of Toronto.

Residents of Barrie in Ontario were terrified when the twister touched down in their neighbourhood.

Several people were injured by flying debris but so far there have been no deaths reported.

The tornado caused extensive property damage and rendered over twenty homes uninhabitable.
