‘Police Officer Killed By Gunman During New Mexico ‘Drugs Bust’

A driver has shot and killed a police officer on a New Mexico highway after being pulled over.

The suspect then led police on a 40-mile chase before his pickup truck was rammed by police.

The violence began when Omar Felix Cueva was pulled over as part of a homeland security investigation by Darian Jarrott, whom he shot dead.

The gunman, who police said was driving to engage in a “drug buy”, was fatally shot by officers after being sideswiped by a police cruiser in the ensuing chase.

Cueva got out of his truck and fired multiple times at the officers, who fired back, killing him.
