Polish forces use tear gas and water canons against migrants

Polish border forces deployed water cannons and tear gas, as migrants attempted to cross into the country from Belarus.

Some migrants were throwing rocks and sticks towards them.

Officials estimate that around 3,500 migrants have been stuck at the Bruzgi-Kuznica checkpoint for weeks.

They are living in a makeshift camp, not permitted to enter Europe but also blocked from returning to Belarus.

Some raised a white flag at the fenced-off Bruzgi-Kuznica crossing, others addressed the forces and pleaded for help.

After being pushed back by Polish border guards the migrants returned to the makeshift tent camp.
