A Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle launched the Progress MS-17 spacecraft to resupply the International Space Station (ISS Progress 78 mission) on 29 June 2021, at 23:27 UTC (19:27 EDT; 30 June, at 04:27 local time) from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. Progress MS-17 will deliver to the International Space Station 470 kg of fuel, 420 liters of drinking water in the Rodnik system tanks, 40 kg of air and oxygen, as well as 1,509 kg of equipment and materials (maintenance items, experiments kits, medical supplies, clothes and food). Progress MS-17 is scheduled to autonomously dock to the International Space Station on 2 July 2021, at 01:03 UTC (21:03 EDT).
