Russia has released footage they claim shows the successful maiden launch of their new nuclear-capable missile.

Vladimir Putin has congratulated the Russian armed forces on the launch of the ‘Sarmat’ intercontinental ballistic missile, and says it will make those threatening Russia ‘think twice’.

Russia says the missile is able to overcome any defence system currently in place. The missile has been in development since the 2000s.
