Rejected blind 'piglet' teaches kindness to others

Piglet is a deaf and blind dachshund Chihuahua mix rescued from a hoarding situation in Georgia by Colbert Veterinary Rescue Services. He was very, very anxious, screamed constantly, was rejected by his dog mom to the point that the rescue realized  that he needed much, much more care. So he was transferred up to us, me, my husband and family in Connecticut to be fostered until they could find him his forever home. 

With lots of cuddling and love and care, Piglet soon started to settle down. He learned tap signals and mapped his environment and also made it very clear that he was already home. So after two months, we decided that we were in fact, his mom and dad, and we adopted him. 

Piglet has an amazing, unbelievably, fabulous quality of life despite what others predicted for him being so, so profoundly disabled. So he has become an ambassador for other animals with disabilities. And he also has a Piglet Mindset Educational Outreach Program, which reaches kids all around the world, teaching them about growth mindset, acceptance, inclusion, empathy, and kindness. Piglet is an amazing, happy dog. And we love him very, very much.
