Rescue dog Banksy paints to find forever home in Bristol

A rescue dog named Banksy has been recreating his namesake graffiti artist’s most famous works at the Bristol Animal Rescue Centre, in an appeal to find his forever home.

The talented dog, who arrived at the shelter having been passed around a few homes, has been visiting some of Bristol’s most famous Banksy artworks on his walks with his carer and recreating them on canvas by using his nose and paws.

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier’s artwork, done with his paw prints will be auctioned next year to help him find a home and to raise money for the animal shelter.

“We actually felt where Banksy loves working for food, he will be a really good candidate to do some painting with, when we match up everything with regard to his name, Banksy is, we thought be would be absolutely great to be able to do some of the original Banksy paintings in his own version,” said Jodie Hayward, Manager of the Bristol Animal Rescue Centre said on Monday.

Banksy is hoping to find a consistent home where he can settle for the rest of his life.
