A barrage of rockets landed close to the Afghan presidential palace in Kabul on Tuesday, where a ceremony was being attended by Afghan president Ashraf Ghani, celebrating the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha.

No casualties have been reported and responsibility is yet to be assumed for the attack. This year, the Taliban have not declared an Eid holiday ceasefire, as has happened in the past.

Heavy security presence was noticeable on the streets of Jalalabad, to ensure the safety of Muslim believers who were celebrating the holiday, as clashes between Afghan security forces and Taliban fighters continue in 15 provinces across Afghanistan.
