Russia: Antonov An-28 passenger aircraft makes hard landing in Siberia *STILLS*

An Antonov An-28 passenger plane carrying 18 people that went missing over the Siberian region of Tomsk has been found, Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations said on Friday.

The plane, operated by Siberian Light Aviation (SiLA), was en route from the town of Kedrovy to Tomsk when it disappeared from radars, officials said.

According to EMERCOM, all the passengers and crew survived the landing and are currently being evacuated from the site.

Russia’s Investigative Committee said it has launched a probe into the accident.

The incident comes after last week another small Russian passenger aircraft crashed into a cliff in the Kamchatka region, killing all 28 people on board.
