A rally organised by the Communist Party (CPRF) against the results of the State Duma elections was held in Pushkin Square on Saturday.

Party representatives protested and demanded that the election results be declared invalid. At the scene of the rally, the police urged citizens to disperse and not to break the law.

According to the Interior Ministry, about 400 people, including journalists and bloggers, gathered at the rally. There are no reports of detentions at the rally at this time.

The elections to the eighth State Duma were held on 17-19 September. According to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), United Russia won 324 mandates, the CPRF won 57, “A Just Russia - For Truth” won 27, the LDPR won 21, and “New People” won 13. “Civic Platform,” “Rodina,” and the “Party of Growth” each received one mandate. Five self-nominated candidates were also elected to the Duma.
