Russia: Drone footage shows crash site of L-410 aircraft in Tatarstan

The crash site of the L-410 light aircraft in Menzelinsk, Republic of Tatarstan, and the destroyed plane were captured by a drone’s footage on Sunday.

As reported by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, an L-410 plane with parachutists on board made a hard landing, crashing with 22 people on board, 20 of which were parachute divers.

According to the Russian Ministry of Health, 16 of these people died and other six were hospitalised in serious conditions.

A Mi-8 helicopter rescue helicopter was dispatched to the scene in an initial emergency response, with more than 50 rescuers and 17 units of equipment involved on the scene later in the day.

Russian authorities have launched a probe into the crash, with L-410 plane flights suspended until the end of the proceedings.
