Russia: Federation Council gives consent for deployment of armed forces abroad

The Federation Council has agreed to the President of Russia to use the armed forces of the Russian Federation outside the country. The corresponding resolution was adopted unanimously at an extraordinary meeting on Tuesday in Moscow.

According to the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, when agreeing to the use of the Russian armed forces abroad, the senators proceed from the assumption that these will be peacekeeping forces aimed at maintaining stability in the territory of the DPR and LPR.
