Russia: Suspect in Samara murder case placed under house arrest by court

The court placed a suspect in the murder of a man, whose body was found near the village of Vintai in the Samara region, under house arrest. The announcement was made on Saturday by the Investigative Committee of the Krasnoglinsky District.

According to the authorities, the deceased was suspected of committing crimes against the sexual inviolability of minors. The criminal case was opened on Friday, September 2, after the body of a man was found in the forest.

Investigators noted that the killer tried to bury the corpse in order to cover up the traces of the crime. Later, the officers managed to establish the criminal nature of the man’s death and his identity.

According to media reports, the murder suspect surrendered on his own to the police station and partially pleaded guilty.

The alleged motive of the crime was footage of sexual actions against the young daughters of a man, which he found on the phone of the murdered man.

Earlier, the Investigative Committee opened criminal proceedings against the murdered man, who was accused of committing crimes, including violent acts of a sexual nature, committed against a person under the age of fourteen.

He was suspected of raping two girls six and eight years old in 2016. It is noted that he filmed the illegal actions on a mobile phone.
