Russia: Taekwondo gold medalists Khramtcov and Larin honoured upon arrival at Moscow airport

Russian Olympic taekwondo gold medalists Maksim Khramtcov and Vladislav Larin received a hero’s welcome upon their return to Moscow after their successful Tokyo Olympics.

Footage shot by Ruptly at the Sheremetyevo airport shows fans and journalists greeting the athletes with applause, congratulations, and cheers of “Thank you.”

The athletes wished good luck to the other Russian athletes while celebrating their own victory.

“Of course we are all happy with the result. We have four medals out of four: two golds for me and Maksim, silver for Tatiana Minina, and bronze for Mikhail Artamonov. I guess we did the best we could. It’s up to the other guys on our team to take first place in the team medal standings,” remarked Larin.

Khramtcov won his first Olympic gold in taekwondo in the final bout against Saleh Elsharabati of Jordan in the 80kg weight group. Vladislav Larin won gold for his victory over Macedonian Dejan Georgievski in the +80kg weight group.

In total Russia has four medals in taekwondo: Two golds, the silver won by Tatiana Minina and bronze won by Mikhail Artamonov.
