Sarah the German boxing 'Princess' ready to take US by storm

Sarah ‘The Princess’ Liegmann, the first German woman to start her career professional USA boxing scene was filmed showing her training routine in Cologne on Friday.
After winning multiple European and world trophies, the 19-year-old former kickboxer decided to switch to professional boxing and paved her way to American boxing rings after her first victory in September.
“It quickly came out that I was the first German woman that who started her career there,” Sarah stated.
Despite the pandemic getting in her way, with the help of her parents Sarah was able to continue her progress.
“I was able to train quite well in the garage for a while,” Sarah shared.
‘The Princess’ is now training for her second professional fight which is expected to take place in Cologne in December.

SOT, Sarah ‘The Princess’ Liegmann, Boxer (German): “I always wanted to go a different way, different from others, that’s why we went to the USA and I have my manager and one of my coaches there. And, yes, then there was an offer to fight there and it quickly came out that I was the first German woman that who started her career there. And, yes, that was of course another bonus on top of the first professional fight in front of so many people and then also in the USA. And, yes, a lot of people only go to the USA in the middle of their careers, after a few fights and I started there, and that was something very special for me.”

SOT, Sarah ‘The Princess’ Liegmann, Boxer (German): “Back then I only practiced boxing because I wanted to improve my boxing techniques in kickboxing. It was always the case that I was really good at kicking while boxing was okay, but you could do better. And many kickboxers just can’t box. I said, man, then I’ll learn boxing, and then I was really in it and at some point I said, I have already achieved so much in kickboxing, so now I’ll start something new and now I’m so stuck on boxing.”

SOT, Sarah ‘The Princess’ Liegmann, Boxer (German): “Unfortunately that didn’t work out with the USA right after my studies as COVID kicked in, and lockdown came, but my parents always had my back and they cleared out the whole garage shortly before the first lockdown, Paffen Sport equipped me a little bit, they got me a waterbag, so I was able to train quite well in the garage for a while.”

SOT, Sarah ‘The Princess’ Liegmann, Boxer (German): “People often ask me if it is difficult for a woman to start in martial arts, and my message is very clear: No. Obviously, women have a different body than men but why not start career in martial arts. You can do anything if only you believe in it and if you train hard.”
