Serbia: President Vucic promises Kosovo Serbs to "win fight" as border tensions escalateУ вашего броузера проблема в совместимости с HTML5

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with representatives of Kosovo Serbs in the border town of Raska on Wednesday to discuss the border crisis after clashes broke out between Kosovo police and Serbs living in northern Kosovo.
At the meeting were present representatives of the Serbian army, as well as Serbian Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin. Representatives of Kosovo Serbs as well as dozens of local Kosovo Serbs addressed the President and appealed for help.
“If we have to start the fight in order to protect the lives of our children and their survival in Kosovo and Metohija, not just that we will protect our children, but I promise you, for the first time, that we are going to win that fight for sure,” said Vucic.
On his way to Raska, President Vucic visited the town of Kraljevo, where he inspected the Serbian forces of the special police unit Gandarmery, which is responsible for guarding the so-called “Ground Security Zone” along the administrative line with Kosovo.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Kosovo police unit ROSU clashed with ethnic Serbs during a police raid searching for smuggled goods in the city of Mitrovica.
The clashes follow a recent conflict at the Kosovo-Serbian border over a vehicle license plate row. The NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR) was deployed to deescalate the dispute.

SOT, Aleksandar Vucic, President of Serbia (Serbian): “According to our intelligence, they (Kosovo) has support of at least one country for today’s action. That country is not part of today’s European Union. Although it doesn’t mean that the European Union won’t support them either. They already did it before when (Hasim) Taci was in power in Kosovo”

SOT, Aleksandar Vucic, President of Serbia (Serbian): “There are three reasons why they do this. First reason is because some great powers hastened them, some of the great powers, not all of them, want to destabilize, to tear everything down so they can better manage the process ands that’s the only way they can work. The second thing is, let’s not forget, that their goal is not only independent Kosovo, and that’s unequivocally completely independent Kosovo, their goal is also to weaken Serbia. Do you think that some of the great powers fancy that Serbia, who used to be fourth in the region by development, is now a leader, they don’t want Serbia to continue growing and making difference, they don’t want us to invest more in our churches, monasteries and education and scientific- technological centers, factories and army. Of course not. The third reasons is linked to the first one. That’s why they want to stop Serbia. And they will never give up, I am talking here about Britain, USA , Germany, also France and Italy , all Quinta countries are together and think the same, but first three countries are leading in this- they will never give up till they see independent Kosovo.”

SOT, Aleksandar Vucic, President of Serbia (Serbian): “We beg to NATO: please do your job, I am begging them to do their job. Also, I kindly ask Albanians, not to discipline Serbs by using violence. If they do it again, thinking that they have enough strength just because some big powers are behind their beck - and I know after this sentence whole world will ask for my head - my response will be crystal clear. If we have to start the fight in order to protect the lives of our children and their survival in Kosovo and Metohija, not just that we will protect our children, but I promise you, for the first time, that we are going to win that fight for sure”
