The Soyuz MS-18 “Y. A. Gagarin” spacecraft, with Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Novitskiy, Pyotr Dubrov and NASA astronaut Mark Vande Hei, was undocked from the Rassvet module of the International Space Station on 28 September 2021, at 12:21 UTC, and docked to the “Nauka” Multipurpose Laboratory Module at 13:04 UTC. According to Roscosmos, the Soyuz MS-18 redocking is necessary so that the Soyuz MS-19 crewed vehicle, scheduled for launch on 5 October 2021, could dock to the Rassvet module, as well as to test the Multipurpose Laboratory Module docking equipment operation.
