At least six people were killed and another 15 were injured on Tuesday night in a fire that broke out in a nursing home in Moncada, Valencia.

Four crews from the Firefighters Consortium travelled to the scene of the incident to put out the flames, and with the help of agents of the Civil Guard, the Local Police, and members of Civil Protection, they preventively evicted around 70 residents.

“The fire broke out on the first floor, in one of the wings of the first floor, in a room where two elderly people lived,” explained Jose Miguel Basset, chief inspector of the Valencia Firefighters Consortium, who added that “when we arrived we found a fully developed fire” that “made survival impossible in that place.”
