The beach of Castelldefels, Catalonia, became a drone flight track for delivery tests on Wednesday, as part of a study on how to set up drone delivery services in European cities.

SOT, Vicenç Guillen, CEO of Mars Intelligence (Spanish): “Our goal during these three days of this project is to carry out delivery simulations. Flights in which we will fly different drones at the same time in an airspace very close to an airport. We are coexisting with planes, helicopters, etc. to simulate these deliveries.”

SOT, Cristina Barrada, teacher at Universita Politecnica de Catalunya (Spanish): “Europe is betting on drones. I believe that this is the moment in which drones began to be in the cities. That would mean an economic boost in terms of job creation and in terms of social benefits, because they can be used for medical situations that are very urgent and that are well seen by society.”
