FC Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman held a press conference in the Catalan capital on Sunday, after beating Real Sociedad in the season opener.

“I think it has been very important and very nice to have our people at the stadium,” said the Koeman about the return of the fans after the pandemic, adding that “the first half hour has been the best Barca in many years.”

Imanol Alguacil, the coach of Real Sociedad, recognised the superiority of the Catalans and stated that “at this level, in the first division, if you don’t push with the ten players on the field, and if you don’t play for real, it is very difficult to win.”

FC Barcelona beat Real Sociedad 4-2 in their first game after Messi’s departure from the club.
