Russia’s ambassador to Poland was splattered with red paint by protesters as he attempted to pay his respects on Victory Day.

Sergey Andreev was visiting at Warsaw cemetery for Red Army soldiers who died during World War II when he was set upon.

The ambassador was met by hundreds of activists opposed to Russia’s war in Ukraine, who chanted “fascist” and “murder”.

They prevented Andreev from laying flowers at the cemetery and police were force to intervene to allow him to get away.
