‘Sriwijaya Air Boeing 737 Feared Lost After Crashing Into the Sea’

Search and rescue operations are underway in Indonesia in an attempt to locate the wreckage of a plane believed to have crashed shortly after taking off from Jakarta.

Sriwijaya Air flight SJ182 disappeared from radar four minutes after departing the Indonesian capital for Pontianak, a short internal flight that usually takes under two hours.

Local fishermen said they saw the plane fall from the sky, and some have found pieces of debris presumed to have come from the missing plane.
