‘Storm Bella: ‘Threat to Life’ Flood Warnings in Place as British Isles Battered’

Storm Bella has brought torrential rain and gusting winds of up to 80 mph as the weather front hit the UK and Ireland on Boxing Day.

England and Wales issued two ‘threat to life’ flood warnings after rivers broke their banks in Bedfordshire and local residents had to be evacuated to safety over Christmas.

Further yellow weather warnings for wind and rain are in place across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and northern Scotland, indicating possible 60mph winds across the country, according to the Met Office.
