This moment comes from 2014 around the Anegada Passage and British Virgin Islands’ Seamounts, where we spotted something rare: a swimming monkfish! We’ve seen plenty of monkfish, but they are primarily sedentary on the bottom of the seafloor. This fascinating underwater animal has a lure on the top of its head and a huge stomach that allows it to swallow prey sometimes as big as itself.
